Norfolk Southern Fires CEO After Misconduct Probe

Norfolk Southern CEO Alan Shaw has been fired, the company announced Wednesday, following an internal investigation into workplace misconduct.
The company announced in a news statement that James A. Squires, the railroad's current chief operating officer, will assume the role of president and CEO immediately.
Shaw led the company since 2018 and was instrumental in the company's merger with Canadian Pacific Railway, a deal that has since been terminated by Canadian Pacific.
