Sinner Knocked Out of French Open by Altmaier
Altmaier Pulls Off Upset
Daniel Altmaier of Germany has pulled off one of the biggest upsets of this year's French Open by knocking out eighth seed Jannik Sinner of Italy in the first round. Altmaier won the match 6-7(6), 7-6(7), 1-6, 7-6(4), and 7-5.
Sinner's Missed Opportunities
Sinner had two match points in the fourth set but was unable to convert either of them. Altmaier then took advantage of his opportunity and won the set in a tiebreaker. The German then carried his momentum into the fifth set and eventually won the match.
