Boeing to Launch Starliner Spacecraft to ISS
Second Attempt at Uncrewed Mission
Launch Scheduled for March 19th
NASA and Boeing are preparing to launch their CST-100 Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) on March 19th. This will be the second attempt at an uncrewed mission to the ISS, after the first attempt in 2019 was aborted due to software issues.
The upcoming mission, known as WEB OFT-2, will demonstrate the end-to-end capabilities of the Starliner spacecraft and Atlas V rocket, from launch to docking to a return to Earth.
The launch is scheduled for 12:25 pm EST from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Starliner spacecraft will be carried into orbit by a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket.
If successful, the mission will pave the way for future crewed missions to the ISS, which are expected to begin later this year.
