Starliner Launch May 6

Starliner Spacecraft Lands Successfully at White Sands Missile Range

Historic Mission Marks a Milestone for Boeing and NASA

Liftoff, Flight, and Landing Proceed Smoothly

The Boeing Starliner spacecraft has successfully landed at White Sands Missile Range's Space Harbor in New Mexico, concluding a historic mission for both Boeing and NASA. The spacecraft, which launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Friday, completed its uncrewed test flight with a perfect landing.

The mission, known as Boeing's Orbital Flight Test-2 (OFT-2), was the company's second attempt at launching the Starliner. The first attempt in 2019 was scrubbed due to a software glitch, but this time around, everything went smoothly.

The Starliner spacecraft is designed to carry astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). If this mission is successful, it will pave the way for crewed missions to the ISS as early as next year. NASA is currently relying on SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft for astronaut transportation to the ISS.

The successful landing of the Starliner is a significant milestone for Boeing and NASA. It represents the completion of a long and challenging development process, and it brings the United States one step closer to having two independent spacecraft systems capable of transporting astronauts to and from the ISS.
