Southwest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Severe Turbulence

Emergency Landing in Tampa

A Southwest Airlines flight from New Orleans to Orlando was forced to make an emergency landing in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday morning after encountering severe turbulence over the Gulf of Mexico. Two people were injured as a result of the turbulence, according to the airline.

The flight, which departed from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) at 7:05 a.m., landed safely at Tampa International Airport (TPA) at 8:30 a.m.

Injuries and Medical Attention

Two passengers on the flight were injured during the turbulence. One passenger suffered a minor leg injury, while the other passenger complained of head pain.

Both passengers were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Southwest Airlines has not released any information on their current condition.

Investigation into the Incident

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently investigating the incident. The FAA will review the flight data and interview the pilots and passengers to determine the cause of the turbulence.

Southwest Airlines has also launched its own internal investigation into the incident. The airline will be reviewing the maintenance records of the aircraft and interviewing the crew members to determine if there were any factors that contributed to the turbulence.
