Chris Christie Jumps Into 2024 Race, Blasts Trump
Former New Jersey Governor Eyes Republican Nomination
Challenging Trump, Christie Positions Himself as Anti-Establishment
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has officially launched his second bid for the Republican presidential nomination, taking aim at former President Donald Trump in his announcement speech.
Christie, who was a close ally of Trump before falling out with him, described Trump as a "threat to our democracy" and pledged to "restore dignity and respect to the office of the presidency." He also attacked Trump's policies, calling them "dangerous and irresponsible."
Christie's campaign faces an uphill battle, as he is a relatively unpopular figure among Republican voters. However, if he is able to damage Trump's chances of winning the nomination, he could be considered a spoiler in the race.
